The rubber machine plays a crucial role in the tire manufacturing process, as it is used to laminate various components such as rubber curtains, wire loops, and treads into a green tire. Depending on its function, the machine can be categorized into two main types: the conventional tire forming machine and the radial tire forming machine. In the case of a conventional tire, each layer of the cord is arranged at an angle, creating a diagonal pattern. During the forming process, the cord cylinder is first placed onto the forming drum, followed by the placement of steel wire rings on both sides. The cushion layer and tread rubber are then applied in the middle, resulting in a cylindrical-shaped green tire. Radial tires differ significantly from conventional tires in terms of construction. The key distinction lies in the orientation of the buffer layer cords, which are positioned at an angle of approximately 90° to 75° relative to the axis of the tire carcass. This nearly orthogonal arrangement ensures that the diameter of the buffer layer remains relatively stable after molding. As a result, once the carcass is formed, it must be expanded to an approximate shape before the buffer layer is added. Due to this structural difference, the design of a radial tire forming machine is also distinct from that of a conventional one. The process of forming a radial tire using a single machine is known as the "one-shot" molding method. Alternatively, if the carcass is first produced using a modified conventional tire building machine and then molded on a radial tire forming machine, it is referred to as the "two-stage" forming method. Both approaches have their advantages, depending on production efficiency, quality control, and the type of tire being manufactured.
