Reasons and Inspection Methods for Powerlessness of Excavator's Boom

Caused by "Inability of Excavator Boom" 1. The excavator's oil circuit is blocked, which restricts the flow of hydraulic fluid and prevents the boom from functioning properly. 2. There is a leak in the oil circuit, leading to loss of pressure and resulting in the excavator's arm not working as intended. 3. Internal leakage occurs in the boom arm and cylinder of the Shanhe excavator, causing a failure in the lifting or movement of the arm. 4. In addition to the above reasons, there may be internal leakage within the hydraulic cylinder of the excavator's boom, which also leads to a lack of power or movement in the boom. Methods for Detecting Excavator Arm Failure: 1. To determine if the excavator’s oil path is blocked, the operator can remove the tubing, the boom slide valve, and the valve stem for cleaning. It's important to clean the entire oil circuit and purge any air from the system before reassembling. After reassembly, observe whether the excavator's boom still fails to move. If the issue persists, it indicates that the blockage was the root cause. If the problem disappears, then the oil circuit was likely the issue. 2. If there is an oil leak, check for signs of dripping or seepage from the excavator parts. Also, look for other symptoms besides the lack of power in the boom. Common causes of oil leakage include failed seals, excessive oil temperature, poor assembly, or large gaps at the pipe joints. 3. The excavator boom slide valve and internal cylinder leaks are usually difficult to detect without proper tools. Therefore, additional diagnostic methods may be required to identify and eliminate these issues. 4. To check if the boom's lack of power is due to internal leakage in the hydraulic cylinder, you can first position the piston at the bottom of the cylinder. Then, disconnect the rodless chamber tubing and continue filling the rod chamber with oil. If a significant amount of working fluid leaks out from the rodless tubing port, it confirms that the internal leakage is the cause of the boom failure. By following these steps, operators can effectively diagnose and address the issue of an excavator boom failing to function properly. Regular maintenance and inspection of the hydraulic system are essential to prevent such failures and ensure smooth operation.
