Installation Instructions for Guangzhou Shengbaimu SPC Stone Plastic Lock Flooring
Before starting the installation of the SPC stone plastic lock flooring, it’s important to ensure that your floor meets all necessary requirements. This type of flooring is designed to provide a durable and elegant finish, but proper preparation is key to achieving the best results.
**Preparation Requirements:**
First, ensure that the surface you plan to install the flooring on is flat and level. Specifically, the ground should have a slope of less than 3 millimeters over a distance of 1 meter. The surface must be completely dry, stable, and free of any debris or dust.
SPC stone plastic lock flooring can be installed over existing cement floors, ceramic tiles, hardwood floors, or even some vinyl tiles, provided these surfaces are smooth and solid. However, avoid installing this flooring on soft surfaces like carpets.
For the installation process, you’ll need a few essential tools: a measuring tape, a cutting machine, a hammer, a knock block, and glass glue. These tools will help you achieve precise cuts and secure fittings.
**Installation Process:**
Begin by laying the first row of flooring pieces along one wall, starting from a corner. Place the tongue side of the board against the wall, leaving a 10mm gap between the wall and the short edge of the board.
Next, align the next board at an angle with the short side of the previous board. Push the board forward gently and lay it flat on the ground. Repeat this process to complete the first row. Remember to cut the final piece of flooring to fit properly, ensuring there’s still a 10mm gap between the wall. Begin the second row using leftover pieces from the first row, making sure they’re longer than 300mm.
Align the tongue edges of the new row with the grooves of the previous row at an angle. Push the board forward and lay it flat. Then, match the short sides of the boards at an angle and fold them down securely. Ensure that each board locks firmly into place with the previous one.
When installing the third row, lift the board slightly (about 30mm) along with the previously installed board in the row below. Press the board into the previous row and lower it gently. Adjust the distance between the floor and the wall to maintain a consistent 10mm gap. Continue this process until the entire area is covered.
**Key Installation Tips:**
Before beginning the installation, leave approximately 10mm of expansion space around walls, pipes, and door frames. In larger rooms (over 100 square meters), additional expansion gaps should be considered. Ensure that doors have at least 13mm of clearance from the floor to prevent wear during operation.
If installing over a moisture-prone subfloor, lay a moisture barrier underneath. Store the flooring in a well-ventilated, shaded area for at least 48 hours before installation to acclimate it to the environment. Avoid placing heavy items directly on newly installed sections; instead, stabilize the area by placing weights temporarily.
Finally, keep in mind that the total height of the flooring system is 11.5mm (1mm for the moisture-proof mat and 10.5mm for the flooring itself). Depending on how the flooring interacts with adjacent surfaces, such as door thresholds or baseboards, you may need to adjust the height slightly by reserving an extra 12mm if necessary.
By following these steps carefully, you can ensure a smooth and professional installation of your SPC stone plastic lock flooring.
