K11 waterproof coating, also known as K11 high-performance waterproof material, is a two-component polymer-modified waterproof system. It features a highly active polymer powder blended with synthetic rubber and synthetic phenylene ester, along with a base material, chemical additives, and fillers. This mixture undergoes plasticization, kneading, and calendering to produce high-quality waterproof materials. Manufactured using imported and domestically sourced premium components, it meets the highest national industry standards and is promoted as a key product by the Ministry of Construction.
There are three main types of K11 waterproof coatings: general-purpose, flexible, and colored K11. Each type is designed for specific applications, offering versatility in different construction scenarios.
The construction process for K11 waterproof coating includes several essential steps: cleaning the base layer, applying a reinforcement layer, sealing joints, moistening the base surface, painting the first coat, allowing it to cure, applying the second coat, curing again, and finally installing a protective layer. Each step ensures proper adhesion and long-term performance.
Before starting the application, thorough preparation of the base is crucial. The surface must be smooth, clean, and free from dust, peeling, or uneven areas. A proper drainage slope should be in place, and the corners should be rounded or chamfered with a minimum radius of 30mm. If the base is dry, it should be pre-wetted to ensure moisture without standing water. Any defects, such as pits, uneven surfaces, or peeling, need to be repaired before proceeding. For old waterproof layers, any loose material should be removed, and the surface should be cleaned and leveled to ensure compatibility with the new K11 coating.
After the coating is applied, a rigid protective layer must be installed. The waterproof film should be carefully inspected for holes, scratches, punctures, or damage, which should be immediately repaired. The waterproof layer must remain leak-free. Additionally, no blisters should appear between the coats. Once cured for at least seven days, a 24-hour water-tight test should be conducted, or a visual inspection after rain can be used to check for leaks.
This comprehensive approach ensures that K11 waterproof coating delivers reliable protection against water damage, making it an ideal choice for residential, commercial, and industrial applications. Its durability, flexibility, and ease of application make it a preferred solution in modern construction projects.
