K11 waterproof coating construction process and engineering quality requirements

K11 waterproof coating, also known as K11 high-performance waterproof material, is a two-component polymer-modified system designed for long-lasting protection against water penetration. This advanced waterproofing solution combines a highly reactive polymer powder with synthetic rubber and phenylene ester-based resins, along with chemical additives and fillers. Through a meticulous process involving plasticization, kneading, and calendering, it produces premium-quality waterproof materials that meet the highest national industry standards. As a result, it has been designated as a key product promoted by the Ministry of Construction. There are three main types of K11 waterproof coatings: universal type, flexible type, and colored K11. Each type is suited for different applications, offering versatility in construction and design. The construction process for K11 waterproof coating involves several key steps. First, the base layer must be cleaned thoroughly and any defects repaired. A reinforcement layer is then applied, followed by joint sealing. The base surface should be moist but not wet before the first coat is applied. After curing, a second coat is applied, and finally, a protective layer is added to ensure durability. Before starting the application, proper preparation of the base layer is essential. The surface should be smooth, free of dust, cracks, or peeling, and have sufficient strength. The slope must meet design specifications, and all corners should be rounded with a radius of at least 30mm. If the base is dry, it should be pre-moistened without leaving standing water. Any imperfections such as uneven areas, pits, or water accumulation should be addressed using high-grade synthetic latex mortar. Surface peeling must be removed, and if an old waterproof layer is present, it should be cleaned and leveled properly. The existing layer must be flat, intact, and compatible with K11 coating for seamless application. Once the coating is completed, the waterproof layer must be inspected thoroughly before applying a rigid protective layer. Any holes, scratches, punctures, or damage found during inspection should be repaired immediately. The finished waterproof layer should be completely leak-free. Additionally, no blisters should appear between the layers. After seven days of curing, a 24-hour water-tight test should be conducted, or leakage can be checked after rain or 24 hours of exposure to water.
