Among these, Ganzhou City leads with the highest number of approved projects, making it a key region for wind energy development in the province.
The 13 wind farms include: Huaneng Hunan Guidong Hankou Wind Farm, Xiehe Wind Farm, Jianghua Dongtian Wind Farm, Datang Huayin Suining Baodingshan Wind Farm, Xiangdian Linwu Dongshan Wind Farm, Concord Wind Tunnel Linkou Wind Farm, Guodian Jiangyong Huangjialing Wind Farm, China Resources Linwu Jiuze Water Wind Farm, Datang Huayin Chengbu Wutuan Wind Farm, Wuling Linxiang Dumphill Mountain Wind Project, Xiangdian Guiyang Luye Wind Farm, Zhongshui Consultant Longhui Baolian Wind Farm, China Water Consultants Guiyang Laixi Wind Farm, and Zhongshui Zhuzhou Phoenix Mountain Wind Farm.
According to the Bozhou City Development and Reform Commission, Zhangzhou's unique topography and landforms make it one of the most promising areas for wind energy in Hunan. It has been designated as a key wind power planning area, contributing approximately 22% of the province’s total installed wind capacity.
As outlined in the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan for Energy Development in Hunan Province," the province aimed to significantly expand its renewable energy sector before 2015. A major focus was placed on developing wind farms in southern Hunan, southeastern Hunan, southwestern Hunan, and around the Dongting Lake region. Specific projects were prioritized in areas such as Chengbu Nanshan and Qijiang Wuhu, aiming to accelerate the growth of clean energy infrastructure across the province.
