Water conservation of rich bamboo farming methods

(1) Before placing the cuttings into the bottle, trim the base of the blade with a sharp knife to create a slanted cut. This helps the plant absorb water and nutrients more effectively. Change the water every 3-4 days, and avoid moving or rotating the cuttings for at least 10 days. Within about 15 days, you should see silvery white roots forming.

(2) Once roots have developed, it's best not to change the water frequently. Only add water when the level drops due to evaporation. Too many water changes can cause the leaves to turn yellow and wither.

(3) After rooting, apply a small amount of liquid compound fertilizer to promote thick stems and shiny green leaves. If no fertilizer is used for too long, the plant may become weak, with thin stems and yellowing leaves, which can reduce its ornamental value. However, be careful not to over-fertilize, as this can lead to root burn or even damage the plant. Apply a diluted compound fertilizer once a month during spring and autumn.

To prevent excessive growth of rich bamboo, avoid using any fertilizer. Instead, consider adding a few drops of brandy to the water every three weeks. This helps control growth and keeps the leaves vibrant. You can also mix in a small amount of nutrient solution to maintain leaf color and health.

(4) Avoid placing your rich bamboo near the TV, air conditioner, or electric fan, as direct airflow can dry out the tips and edges of the leaves. Keep it in a stable, well-lit area away from strong drafts.
