Identify the quality of safety shoes

When it comes to assessing the quality of safety shoes, both the exterior and internal features should be considered. While some internal aspects require specialized equipment for evaluation, most consumers can rely on visual inspection and physical examination to determine the overall quality of the footwear.

1. Upper (Top Part)
The upper is one of the most important parts of a shoe. For smooth leather shoes, check if the material feels soft and plump. Press your hand on the upper—does it feel loose or saggy? A high-quality upper should be firm, comfortable, and evenly glossy without any signs of looseness. For suede shoes, ensure that the nap is short, even, and consistent in color. The toe box, which reinforces the upper, helps prevent deformation and improves comfort. High-quality materials like real leather should offer good breathability, moisture absorption, and resistance to fading. Additionally, the stitching should be neat with no wrinkles or excess fabric edges.

2. Insole
Insoles serve to keep the inside clean and provide cushioning by covering uneven areas. Men's shoes often use a half-insole or heel pad, while women’s shoes typically have a full insole. The insole should be absorbent and well-attached to the inner sole, with no bumps or irregularities in the surface.

3. Outsole
From an appearance standpoint, the outsole should be firmly bonded to the upper with no visible gaps. The bottom should be flat and even, ensuring stability and durability during use.

4. Heel
Whether it’s a low or high heel, the first thing to check is how well it fits into the shoe. For women’s shoes with mid to high heels, two key points are especially important: First, the heel should be securely attached inside the shoe so that it doesn’t wobble when you walk. Second, the base of the heel should not be narrower than the bottom of the shoe itself, as this could lead to instability.

5. Inner Sole
Check the material of the inner sole—it’s best if it’s made of leather. Apply pressure to the arch area (the part that supports the instep when wearing the shoe). If the material shifts or moves under pressure, it may indicate poor construction. Also, observe if the edges of the shoe deform under this force; if they do, the shoe might not be of good quality.

6. Stability
Place the shoe on a flat surface. If it stands upright and remains steady without tilting, it shows good balance and structure. This is a fundamental requirement for high-quality shoes.
