Glass Sign: Automatic Solar Traffic Lights

Designed by Almasov Aibek, the Glass Sign is an innovative solar-powered pedestrian traffic light system that aims to improve road safety and efficiency. This unique device looks like a transparent ring, blending seamlessly into urban environments while serving a practical purpose.

The outer edge of the ring is equipped with solar panels, allowing it to harness renewable energy during the day. Inside the ring, there's a high-contrast display screen that changes color based on the time of day—black and white symbols during daylight hours and red at night. This ensures visibility in all lighting conditions.

When a pedestrian approaches the designated crossing point, the system detects their presence and automatically switches the signal within 5 seconds. The transparent display then alerts pedestrians that it's safe to cross, while also reminding drivers to slow down. The signal remains active for about 15 seconds, adjusting depending on the road’s width to ensure maximum safety for all users.

This smart, eco-friendly solution not only reduces reliance on traditional power sources but also enhances the overall experience for both pedestrians and drivers.
