The fault diagnosis and rectification method is that if there is oil on the commutator, the commutator and the carbon brush will be separated and the current will not be delivered. Therefore, when lubricating the generator bearing, do not apply too much oil to prevent the spilled oil from contaminating the commutator. Oily commutators and carbon brushes should be wiped clean.

The carbon brush is too short or the spring is damaged, and the carbon brush is in poor contact with the commutator, which is a common reason that the generator does not generate electricity. This should be more, springs or carbon brushes. The contact surface of the new carbon brush is sanded with fine sandpaper so that it completely coincides with the commutator surface.

When the mica chip is higher than the commutator, the charcoal brush is left unconnected, and a strong spark occurs between the commutator and the carbon brush when the generator is working, and the output voltage is reduced. At this point, the mica piece can be cut by a hacksaw to below the rectifying piece. If the excitation coil breaks, the generator will not generate electricity. You can use the test light or universal test to confirm that the excitation coil is disconnected before the development of the motor and the broken end of the welding.

If the above items are all normal, the generator still does not generate electricity. It may be that there is no residual magnetic pole in the stator. When the generator rotor rotates, stator remanence generates electromagnetic induction and generates current. This current is supplied to the excitation coil so that the generator voltage is gradually increased. If the generator is stored for a long time due to severe impact or overheating, the residual magnetization will disappear. This may also happen with new generators.

If there is no remanence of the generator, the solution is to gently press the movable contactor of the interceptor and close it for a short time while the engine is running at a high speed. The current of the battery is magnetized to the stator pole by the excitation coil, and the generator will generate electricity immediately. The battery terminal of the regulator and the generator magnetic field volt pole are connected by the wire.

If the newly-repaired generator does not generate electricity, the excitation coil may be reversed or the wire ends may be connected incorrectly.

If the DC generator voltage is too low, the battery cannot be charged. At this time, it is necessary to check and adjust the adjuster and the belt tightness. If the adjustment still has no effect, the rotor coil or the excitation coil may be damaged. 220, test light or instrument can be used to check, if the insulation of the coil is damaged, the coil should be replaced.

If the temperature of the generator is too high during operation, check whether the voltage and current are normal, and whether the rotor and the magnetic pole collide with each other. The reason that the rotor and magnetic pole collide is that the bearing is damaged or the rotor shaft is bent. After the rotor shaft is bent, it cannot be corrected and it can only be replaced with a new one.

In order to prevent or reduce the occurrence of DC generator failure, it is important to pay attention to maintenance in time. First of all, to clean the outside, according to technical requirements, oil injection, inspection, belt tightness and wiring; Second, should always keep the carbon brush and commutator clean, timely replacement of the worn carbon brush; is the regular inspection, commutator, asked to deal with in a timely manner.
