Positive Pressure Fire Air Respirator Industry Standard Revised

The revised "Positive Pressure Fire-fighting Air Respirator" industry standard was approved by the Ministry of Public Security on the recent release, numbered GA124-2013, instead of GA124-2004, will be implemented on September 1 this year.
Positive-pressure fire-fighting air respirator is a respiratory protective device used by firefighters to carry out fire fighting or rescue operations. The industry standard GA124-2013 "Positive Pressure Fire-fighting Air-Respirator" was revised with reference to EN137-2006 "Respiratory Protection Devices - Self-contained Open Circuit Compressed Air Respirator with Full Cover - Requirements, Tests, and Signs" and NFPA 1981-2007 "Fire Protection Emergency open-circuit self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA); specifies the type, series, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules and signs, packaging, transportation, and storage of positive pressure fire air breathing apparatus.
Compared with GA124-2004, the main technological changes in GA124-2013 are as follows: Modification of the preparation of the model, division of the series; addition of general rules; modification of the structural requirements; increase of the fire-retardant performance requirements of backing and gas cylinder protective sleeves; Anti-heat aging performance requirements and test methods; Increased radiation resistance thermal performance requirements and test methods; Modified performance requirements for pneumatic alarms; Increased performance requirements for electronic alarms; Modified full mask performance requirements; Modified pointers Pressure gauge performance requirements; increased performance requirements of electronic pressure gauges; increased pressure head-up display device performance requirements and test methods; increased connection strength requirements and test methods; increased non-metallic high-pressure component strength requirements and tests Method; Revised the performance requirements and test methods of medium-pressure air-ducts; Increased the requirements and test methods of quick-connect fittings; Modified the requirements of gas bottles; Modified the size requirements of the output end of gas bottle valve; Modified practical performance Requirements and test methods; modified test method for high temperature resistance; revised inspection rules; revised signs Seeking; increased performance requirements and test methods for rapid inflation device; increased performance requirements and test methods ambient air bypass apparatus; increased performance requirements and test methods for the remote communication device.
GA124-2013 was drafted by the Shanghai Fire Research Institute of the Ministry of Public Security, and the National Fire Protection Standardization Technical Committee Firefighter Protective Equipment Subcommittee (SAC/TC113/SC12) centralized. The promulgation and implementation of this standard can more effectively regulate the production, use management and maintenance of positive pressure fire-fighting air breathing apparatus, provide basis for product design, acceptance and supervision and management, and improve the positive pressure firefighting air breathing apparatus for fire fighting units. The quality level will play an important role.
