Essential Steps for Installing Honeycomb Inclined Tube Technology

The honeycomb inclined tube requires proper welding and assembly, which should only be performed by trained professionals. Poor installation can significantly reduce the lifespan of the system. Below are the key steps to follow during the installation process.
First, install the sludge discharge pipeline at the bottom of the sedimentation tank.
The installation process typically begins from the bottom. First, the sludge drainage system must be installed, ensuring that all outlets meet design specifications and are securely fixed. A thorough inspection should be conducted before proceeding to the next stage.
Second, install the support frame for the honeycomb inclined tube filler.
Following the installation drawings, the support frame is positioned and welded in place. All joints must be inspected for strength and stability to ensure they can support the weight of the filler. The frame should also be treated with anti-corrosion materials for long-term durability.
Third, perform hot welding on the honeycomb inclined tubes.
Each inclined tube is packed as a single unit and then heat-welded. After welding, each unit covers an area of approximately 1 square meter. These units are then stacked on-site, leaving a small number of spare sheets for future use.
Fourth, assemble the honeycomb inclined tube filling in the sedimentation tank.
The filled units are assembled from left to right on top of the support frame, maintaining a consistent 60-degree angle. Each unit should be pressed firmly into place. If the final unit doesn’t fit perfectly, it should be adjusted using leftover honeycomb tubes until everything is properly aligned.
Fifth, secure the upper part of the honeycomb inclined tube filler.
Because the honeycomb tubes have a specific gravity slightly less than water, they may float if not properly secured. To prevent this, 10 mm round steel bars are placed horizontally across the top of the filler units. These bars are fixed to the walls of the sedimentation tank on both ends. The steel is coated with epoxy coal tar pitch for added protection.
Sixth, operate and test the honeycomb inclined tube sedimentation tank.
(1) Ensure even water inflow to avoid turbulence that could affect settling efficiency.
(2) Adjust the water level in the sump to maintain consistent outflow.
(3) After installation, monitor the influent for suspended solids concentration and schedule sludge removal accordingly. This helps maintain optimal performance and effluent quality over time.
