By logging into the Laoshan District’s 35114 platform, users can search for specific markets, view live video feeds, and even monitor prices in real time. The system allows users to watch high-definition footage from anywhere, giving them a clear view of the market environment.
During a recent visit, reporters had the chance to experience the system firsthand. By using the on-screen controls, they could navigate 360-degree views of the market, zoom in on individual stalls, and even see the digital price tags on scales. This level of detail ensures transparency and helps maintain fair practices among vendors.
The real-time surveillance system enables authorities to monitor market activities 24/7, ensuring that merchants follow regulations and maintain cleanliness standards. At the same time, the public can also observe the market from a distance, gaining a comprehensive understanding of its operations.
Looking ahead, the “Amoy†fresh produce initiative will allow users to access detailed pricing information for various vegetables through the 35114 platform. They will be able to compare prices across different markets, find the nearest locations, and even get contact numbers and bus route directions via an interactive map.
According to Yu Guang, Director of the Laoshan District Commercial Bureau, there are currently 16 vegetable markets equipped with video surveillance and online menu options. Within two months, after upgrading the facilities, all 26 markets in the area will be able to offer these services. "In the next phase, we plan to number each stall and install intercom devices so that customers can communicate directly with market owners through the platform," he added.
This new model of smart and transparent market management is expected to be rolled out citywide, setting a new standard for urban agriculture and consumer engagement.
