Four major families of fungicides

Pesticide fungicides are a popular pesticide variety in the agricultural market. Different fungicide products can treat different diseases and can be basically divided into the following four categories:

Category 1: Protective fungicide:

This kind of fungicide can protect the application site that is not infected by germs, and is free from the infection of the bacteria. It is necessary to spray the medicine before the crop is exposed to the disease or disease.

It is generally applied to the parts of the plant that may be damaged before the disease is prevalent to protect the plants from disease infestation. The main mode of action of the protective fungicide is to form a film on the surface of the plant after application, so that the bacteria can not be infected. Commonly used are Bordeaux mixture, stone sulphur mixture, mancozeb, and zinc.

Category 2: Exterminating fungicides:

This kind of fungicide has a direct and strong killing effect on pathogenic bacteria, but plants can not tolerate such agents in the plant growth period, so they can only be used for soil treatment, plant dormancy or seedling treatment before planting. Commonly used formalin-sterilized bacteria seeds, tebuconazole has a detrimental effect on wheat stripe rust and powdery mildew.

Category 3: Therapeutic fungicides:

The bactericide is also called a systemic agent, and is applied after the plant is infected. After the agent is absorbed and transmitted by the plant, the development of the bacteria in various parts of the plant can be inhibited and the pathogen can be killed. Common are carbendazim, thiophanate, chrysanthemum, azoxystrobin and other chlorothalonil.

Category 4: Disease Resistance Activator:

After the plant is treated with the fungicide, the substance that induces disease resistance of the whole plant by identifying the pathogenic bacteria is an anti-pathogenic activator of the plant. However, this agent does not directly exhibit bactericidal activity, but is resistant to disease for a long time after use for a few days, so that resistance is not easily generated. Common agents are oxalic acid, benzothiadiazole, and allyl benzothiazole.

The above four categories are general summaries of pesticide fungicides, and the varieties used to treat different crop diseases are also different.
